Parents:
The four seasons in nature are an enduring reminder that things change. A bleak winter afternoon will eventually give way to a balmy spring breeze, just like a prolonged feeling of sadness can ultimately be transformed into peaceful understanding.

Children
Does it ever feel like things won't change? Like good things won't happen anymore? It is important to remember that things always can change. You change too. Chances are the clothes you wore last year don't fit you as well this year -- you changed by growing. Think about the plain brown caterpillar that changes into a beautiful butterfly.

Activity: Food Coloring and Bleach
Fill a tall, clear container halfway with water. Change the clear water to murky by adding different colors of food coloring. When the mixture is black, have an adult slowly add bleach. Let the solution stand for one minute, stir, and watch as it becomes clear before your eyes. See? Things can change.

Activity: A Jiggly Treat
Here is a tasty way to experience change. Prepare a package of gelatin dessert. See how by just adding water, a powdery mixture turns to colorful liquid, then after a short time in the refrigerator, transforms into a jiggly treat!
